Judging Criteria
-
Technology
How technically impressive is the hack? Is the technical problem the tackled difficult? Does it use a particularly clever technique or perhaps use many different components? -
Design
How well designed is the user experience? For a website, this might be about how beautiful the CSS or graphics are. Is it easy to use or does it use a cool interface? Is it easy to understand? Is it documented? -
Completion
Does the hack work? Did you achieve everything you wanted? Do you plan to continue work on the project? Just because a project doesn’t 100% work doesn’t mean it can’t score high in this category. -
Learning
Did you stretch yourself? Did you try to learn something new (hardware, software, technique)? Were there any difficulties your team faced during the weekend, and how did you solve them? -
Creativity/Uniqueness
Is the idea something that is cool and unique, or just a remake of something from last year? Is this a new idea?
